Gophers Qualify for CRAA D1AA National Sevens!

The University of Minnesota Men's Rugby team has secured a spot at the CRAA D1AA National Sevens Championship! The Gophers earned their qualification with a strong performance, finishing second at the Heart of America Conference Sevens Tournament in Columbia, Missouri on April 19th.

Here's the scores from the day:

  • Game 1: Minnesota 5 - 7 Iowa State

  • Game 2: Minnesota 28 - 5 Kansas State

  • Game 3: Minnesota 22 - 7 Kansas

  • Game 4 (Semi-Final): Minnesota 19 - 14 Iowa

  • Game 5 (Final): Minnesota 22 - 5 Iowa State

Adding to the accolades, juniors Owen Voice and Carter Roth were selected to the All-Conference sevens team. Freshman Joshua Nacker was also recognized for his outstanding performance, earning the title of Gophers Player of the Tournament.

The CRAA D1AA National Sevens Championship will be hosted by the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, on May 17th and 18th.
